A quick getaway to Cabo can make your month. It might be for a girlfriend getaway (or bachelorette party) or a couples weekend. The Marina Fiesta Resort and Spa is the ideal resort to blend a lazy resort day with some nightlife and even a boating or shopping excursion.

Located at the end of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula in Cabo San Lucas, the Marina Fiesta Resort & Spa is a family-friendly resort within walking distance of shopping and dining in Cabo. It might welcome kids, though this resort is not a kiddie-themed resort, therefore, it is popular with girlfriend getaways, weddings and family reunions.

3 Reasons Marina Fiesta Resort & Spa Works

  • It offers a great location, within walking distance of the marina, clubs and shopping.
  • Decide between an All-Inclusive or an A La Carte Plan
  • Good for Adults and Families
  • Gathering Spaces at Marina Fiesta Resort & Spa

Guests arrive at its open-air lobby, a hub for check-in, welcome drinks and the on-site concierge. This area overlooks the main pool, and the Amura Spa is down a set of stairs.

The Main Pool area at the Marina Fiesta Resort and Spa offers a pair of whirlpools along with a shallow area that kids often play in. There is a stunning ledge in the main pool as well. Surrounding the pool, I saw lots of lounge chairs, some of which are covered, and guests can order poolside drinks. This area also offers a swim-up bar, two hot tubs and a dining area with a view of the marina.

The adults-only pool is in another part of the resort and offers a swim-up bar. This pool area hosts a live DJ or entertainer.

For those traveling with kids, the kids’ area is tucked away and features a kids club with a splash pad, a pirate-themed waterscape and a playset with swings. There are even kid-sized loungers next to the adult-sized loungers.

Dining at the Marina Fiesta Resort and Spa

The Marina Fiesta Resort and Spa offers several of its restaurants in an area called the Golden Zone. It overlooks the Cabo San Lucas Marina. During my stay, I used its All-Inclusive Package, though an a la carte option is available.

    La Palapa Restaurant Bar

Near the main pool, La Palapa Restaurant Bar serves breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks. During my stay, I enjoyed its breakfast buffet, including favorites like chilaquiles, along with bacon, sausage and pancakes.

If a bloody mary or mimosa is on your must-have breakfast vacation list, the bar next door offers morning cocktails and serves until 7 p.m. Lunch options include burgers and chicken sandwiches along with cold sandwiches. Salads are also available on the lunch menu.

    Los Deseos Contemporary Mexican Restaurant

One of my favorite things to do in Mexico is eat Mexican food. I started with some tableside-made guacamole and a spicy margarita. Then I had the queso mixed in a hot molcajete (lava bowl) tableside.

The menu offers all the Mexican staples from enchiladas to tamales to fajitas. I chose a chicken entree made with pumpkin seeds to try something different. I finished off with a chocolate and chili cake and sampled a churro. Both were excellent.

Los Deseos Contemporary Mexican Restaurant is open from 7 a.m. for breakfast until 10 p.m. (Dinner requires reservations).

    Baja Lobster and Oyster Bar

With a seafood-heavy dinner menu, I started with the tuna tartare. I accompanied my meal with a Paloma, a personal favorite with its grapefruit soda.

The Red Snapper made in the Acapulco way was pan-fried yet tender on the inside; it’s a specialty of the area.

During lunch, this area is an Oyster Bar with fresh and raw seafood options. It is open from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

    Jack’s Steak House

I did not eat at Jack’s, though its steaks look amazing.

Open from noon until 5 p.m. for lunch, Jack’s Steak House offers live music. For dinner (reservations required), it is open until 10 p.m. and located in the Golden Zone.

    Presto Restaurant

Another option on the Golden Zone, the Presto Restaurant, offers Italian food. It is open from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Reservations are required.

    Sandwich Factory

Located on the Golden Zone, this storefront offers grab-and-go sandwiches and snacks. It is open from 5 a.m – 9 p.m.

Swim Up Bars are located at the main pool and the adults-only pool. Visitors can order a cocktail and enjoy a lounge under one of the umbrellas.

My Room at the Marina Fiesta Resort and Spa

For my stay, I enjoyed an air-conditioned queen room, with one queen bed dressed in white linens and a memory foam mattress. It overlooked the outdoor pool and featured a small kitchenette. I found a microwave and a mini fridge stocked with water, Coke and Diet Coke along with several Mexican beers.

My room featured a nautical theme and had a small table with two chairs for eating and a small sofa bed. There was ample space for a couple.

The bathroom featured a glass-enclosed shower with the toilet separated by a door. Outside, there was a small vanity with a white porcelain vessel sink along with the well-lit main mirror.

Opposite the sink, the reach-in closet offered a luggage rack along with a robe and slippers, iron and board and a safe.

The balcony overlooking the pool had two comfortable chairs with a small table. This space was ideal for afternoon cocktails and a sunning session.

Other Suites at the Marina Fiesta Resort and Spa

During my stay, I enjoyed a Grand Luxe Suite though other options are available.

  • Nautical Junior Suite–The basic room at Marina Fiesta Resort and Spa.
  • Nautical One Bedroom Suite —This room includes a full kitchen in this suite.
  • Nautical Family Two Bedroom Suite–With two bedrooms and a large dining and living space, this is the choice for large families.
  • Nautical Presidential Suite–This suite offers a full kitchen along with two bedrooms and a jacuzzi on its private balcony.
  • The Amura Spa and Salon at the Marina Fiesta Resort and Spa

During my stay, I enjoyed a treatment at its spa. The Amura Spa and Salon is located on a floor below the lobby. It features a hydrotherapy circuit with a redwood sauna, a steam room, whirlpool and cold plunge pool.

Guests who schedule a treatment are encouraged to arrive early and indulge before their treatment. My therapist addressed my problem areas. This spa was a convenient getaway during my stay. The services range from Swedish and deep tissue massage to facial and body wraps.

The area offers ample space to relax, and the therapists and spa attendants genuinely care for the guests. Throughout my time in the spa, they offered water and towels several times.

For those celebrating or wanting an indulgent spa experience, take the free shuttle to its sister property, the Hacienda Encantada. Its facility is much larger and offers a spectacular hydrotherapy pool.

Amenities at the Marina Fiesta Resort and Spa

The Marina Fiesta Resort and Spa is family-friendly and offers a kids club and babysitting. Both are extra.

Free wifi is included. Room service is available, and there is a fitness center.

For those with more than a weekend, I suggest visiting Marina Fiesta Resort and Spa’s sister resort, Hacienda Encantada Resort and Residences.
