Pre-travel testing no more requirement for travelers entering the United States of America
The Biden administration has ended the pre-travel testing requirement for travelers entering the United States of America. This means that you no longer need to book an appointment for your antigen test regardless of your vaccination status. This testing requirement is regardless of nationality and means any flight bound to the US will no longer require this test to enter the USA. Please note, that if you are a Canadian returning to Canada, even if you are flying through the US, Canada still requires a PCR test to enter Canada.
Effective May 1, 2022, state Health authorities in BCS have lifted the mask mandate for required mask use in open public areas. Masks are still required in closed areas and recommended for anyone who may be at high risk due to an underlying health condition. Please note, that masks may be required in some businesses in Los Cabos and it is up to the discretion of certain companies to enforce or not the mask policy.
Currently, Los Cabos is within Level 1 (green) of the health classification system for the state of Baja California Sur. Under Level 1, additional recreational activities are permitted to be open, and all establishments continue to maintain occupancy limit protocols of approximately 1 person per 6.5 square feet, a 1 AM curfew, and social distancing.
It is still recommended by both the CDC and the Mexican Health Authorities that if you feel unwell you can elect an Antigen Test or PCR test, and At Mexico Grand Hotels, the safety and well-being of our guests and staff are our top priorities. As part of our advanced health and safety program CASALIMPIA, Mexico Grand Hotels has partnered with AMC Hospitals to secure certified medical professionals to perform testing on-site to guarantee a safe and relaxing stay for our guests. Should a guest test positive, preventing their return home, the Los Cabos Tourism Department has outlined the following protocols:
Arrangements can be made at a discounted rate in a suite, villa, or residence to quarantine for up to 14 days in Los Cabos.
During this time, AMC medical staff will be available in case of a medical emergency or if medical assistance is needed.
A second test will be performed; once the test is negative, the guests will be able to return home.
